"Takatalvi" - Series
“TAKATALVI” is my latest series, painted in Helsinki and I am super excited to reveal it today.
Being in March 2023 for quite some time in Helsinki, made me experience the finnish weather at this time of the year by myself.
Takatalvi is a finnish word, the Finns use to express the coming back of the winter when you already enjoyed the first vibes of spring. And I literally went through a lot of different weather situations while my stay.
Beginning with quite ok weather in the beginning, to grey, to sun, to lot of snow and then again beautiful, cold, snowy weather with bright sunshine. ☀️❄️💧☁️💨
All my paintings are a part of me and a testimonial of a certain moment, feelings, and impressions. The colors in my paintings do have a meaning and manifest the impressions, feelings, and emotions I express in my abstract work.
In the “TAKATALVI” painting series the different shades of blue express the coldness of the winter season, while at the same time it comes with calmness and clearness.
The yellow and ochre shades symbolize the sun as well as the soil and ground who was covered under the snow. Red stands for the life, the nature coming back to life.
The series is still in process, the three paintings below were already exhibited twice in Helsinki.
